Itinerary of the 2 Days Agafay Desert Tour:

Day 1: Marrakech – Tahanouet – Kik Plateau – Lalla Takerkoust – Agafay Desert

Departure from Marrakech is in the morning by 4×4, heading southwest toward the Agafay region. The route takes you off-road through Berber villages and open countryside, with opportunities to stop, stretch your legs, and enjoy the scenery. Along the way, you may choose to visit a local village for mint tea or enjoy a camel ride through the rocky landscape.

The journey continues toward the lake of Lalla Takerkoust, a popular spot framed by hills and open skies. Lunch is available at a lakeside restaurant (not included), offering a relaxing break before continuing to the desert. By afternoon, you arrive in the Agafay Desert, where you settle in and unwind. As evening approaches, enjoy a candlelit dinner under an exceptionally clear, star-filled sky—one of the most memorable moments of the trip. The night is spent in the heart of the desert, surrounded by silence and open space.

Day 2: Agafay Desert – Kik Plateau – Moulay Brahim – Asni – Marrakech

Wake early to witness sunrise over the desert, followed by a traditional breakfast. The journey resumes toward the Kik Plateau, where panoramic viewpoints offer sweeping views of the Atlas Mountains. After a short refreshment stop, the route passes through Moulay Brahim, known for its spiritual significance and hilltop setting.

The drive continues down to the town of Asni, located at the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. On Saturdays, the local market is alive with activity, providing a rare glimpse into rural Moroccan life, with livestock trading and regional produce on display. Passing through orchards of apple, cherry, and apricot trees, you descend toward the plains surrounding Marrakech, arriving back in the city in the late afternoon after an enriching mix of desert, mountains, lakes, and village life.
